I'm Gian Geralcus
Based in Jakarta. I work in logistics and customs during the day, and build the internal tools that help run everything.
I think the best tools come from people who actually use them. When you know the operations from the inside, you solve the real problems, not just the obvious ones.
Right now I lead the technical side at Gateway Prima Indonusa and consult for CBG Logistics across Southeast Asia. Day-to-day that means dashboards, data pipelines, automation, and keeping a legacy ERP alive.
Studied supply chain in Australia (Wollongong) and information systems in the UK (Lancaster). Got my customs broker license and a few supply chain certs along the way.
Identity
Efficient & effective delivery systems
This year I'm mostly trying to remove manual steps. Less copy-pasting, less chasing people for info, less doing the same thing twice.
Not automation for the sake of it. Just making sure the right info gets to the right person without someone having to forward it.
Four years, two hats
Business Operations Lead & Technical Lead
- Built the internal dashboard the ops team uses every day. Tracks shipment progress and shows what's on schedule, what's not
- Wrote a sync pipeline that moves data from our legacy ERP to the cloud without breaking anything
- Set up an AI system that reads incoming emails, pulls out vendor rates, and routes inquiries — meaningfully cut manual sorting
- Put an AI gateway in place so we stop paying per-call API fees — meaningful reduction in AI costs
- Built a schedule tracker that syncs vessel data from carriers automatically
- Made the customer portal and company website
Consultant
- Consulting on logistics across Southeast Asia, covering Indonesia, Singapore, India, Vietnam, and Cambodia
- Helping companies figure out where their supply chain is leaking time and money
Business Operation Coordinator & Development
- Ran daily operations across sea and air, both export and import side
- Cleaned up how we handle customs docs and compliance. Less back-and-forth, fewer mistakes
- Got pulled into the dev side because I kept finding things that could be automated
Export Officer
- Handled export docs and coordinated with shipping lines day to day
- Did the customs clearance work: paperwork, compliance, making sure nothing gets stuck
